John Gill’s book with his wife Bridget, After the Coal Dust, is the basis of this talk by a master of street photography. Imogen Holmes-Roe, the curator of art and photography at the National Mining Museum for England, said: ‘Unapologetically honest, and in some cases tinged with humour, this collection of photographs document another important chapter in the story of Britain’s post-industrial heritage.’
